Welcome to my new blog.

I've often thought about beginning this blog.  Having lived in Weymouth for many years now, I have always enjoyed the life that the area and people who live in it have given me.  The place is a beautiful and thriving place to be in and the people are so friendly; it really is a hidden gem.  Whether it will continue to be so hidden after the Olympics is, of course, another matter.

The intent behind this blog is to share some of the areas and events that you might not read about elsewhere or to simply give another viewpoint.  I shall review places that I have visited or eaten at honestly and I shall share some of the fun and possibly disappointments from local places, establishments and events.

Maybe you will hear about places that you never realised existed.

The blog name - Weymouth Wonders.
This is to convey that , of course, Weymouth is wonderful and also to describe how the blog will contain  my thoughts and wonderings on what I am seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting etc.

I had considered calling it Wandering around Weymouth as I would be commenting after my wanders.  As the two words are very close in spelling, I could always pretend that I have made a typo on some occasions.

Anyway, I will be wondering whilst I am wandering and I will be sharing some of my wonders with anyone who stumbles or wanders across them and would like to read them.
